Last year I donated three hand drawn maps and a podcast.

The people who won the hand drawn maps (@bugduv, @AcceptanceIII and someone who is no longer on the boards) never received theirs because of my own mental health issues. That’s not an excuse, but I’ve been feeling dreadful about it all year. Literally all year. To them I’d like to massively apologise and, formally state that if they’re still around and want them, I’ll draw them up in the next few months. I will endeavour to honour that raffle prize winning, as the fact that this is still outstanding actually almost prevented me from posting in this thread. Instead, I’m owning up to it. You can understand I’ve been on a journey this year, if you follow the Alcohol SSP thread.

The podcast prize is, amazingly, finally, coming out in a few weeks, so this is amazing timing. I’ll post it in here when it releases @manches.

So, with that said, I do want to offer some prizes, if you’ll let me despite failing demonstrably last year.

Just some general ideas of things for anyone, part based on last years prizes:

Food and drink - homemade stuff, locally sourced things other DiSers might not be able to get easily, something you have a particular knowledge of (so maybe coffee, a certain type of booze, spice blends or something… anything postable).

Books, comicsand zines, CDs/vinyl, DVDs/blu-ray - stuff from your own collections picked for the winner, or as DiS has been list crazy of late maybe something from that (e.g. the top three books from the 21st century poll, or choice of album from the music list).

Personalised selections of things that other DiSers might like, e.g. @meowington’s box of Lush things.

Vouchers for somewhere or something nice

I also failed to fulfil my prize last year! It was to be taken to the cinema by me, then bought two drinks afterwards. The winner didn’t live in London and I failed to get the prize transferred to someone in London or in any other way changed to mean the winner did get something.

Will see if I can think of anything else this year that might work better, if not will do the same again but find a way to make it work regardless of winners location

Please no one feel bad, life and things get in the way and it isn’t easy to follow through on prizes, especially ones that take a lot of your time and skill to make.

Participation (both prize giving or ticket buying) isn’t an obligation, people should involve themselves as much or as little as they want :slight_smile:
