Here is the poll, which will remain open until 6pm tomorrow, Saturday. We will watch the film at 8pm (at least those of us in the live chat will, see separate poll below). Once we’ve finished watching whichever film wins the poll, we can all carry on discussing it in here. Not doing a separate thread for discussion this time, want to see how this works.

Which film will we be watching?

  • Princess Mononoke (Hayao Miyazaki, 1997)
  • The Endless (Justin Benson/Aaron Moorhead, 2017)
  • LotR: The Two Towers (Peter Jackson, 2002)
  • Hellboy (Guillermo del Toro, 2004)
  • Annihilation (Alex Garland, 2018)
  • Lucy (Luc Besson, 2014)
  • Videodrome (David Cronenberg, 1983)
  • Frequency (Gregory Hoblit, 2000)
  • Fast Color (Julia Hart, 2018)
  • Lockout (James Mather/Steve Saint Leger, 2012)
  • Mars Attacks! (Tim Burton, 1996)
  • Ex Machina (Alex Garland, 2014)

(Not all of these are available to me in my foreign country, but let’s just vote and see how it goes)

Do you want to be in the live DM chat?

  • Yes I do
  • No I do not

Keep changing my vote - but I feel very strongly that we should only watch something @whiterussian is able to watch too

Anything but Two Towers

I love LotR, but this film club isn’t the place for it.

Can I suggest a possible future theme: if Mononoke doesn’t win this one, can we pick a Ghibli film to watch together some time?

Good idea! Have already been thinking about going outside of the set Netflix categories for some of these.

Mostly I just want to lobby hard for Pom Poko (though I’d watch any)

Really hoping I get in on time for the chat tomorrow :crossed_fingers:

I’ve seen very little Ghibli so anything would be great for me.

I hope so too! :crossed_fingers:

feel like mars attacks and hellboy would be the best suited to live chat of those (although I’ve never heard of four of them so this is probably bollocks)

Looks like it’s probably Mars Attacks, doesn’t it? Four hours to go though, ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN!!

Might actually be a fun film unlike the «comedy» we watched last time, great stuff

Time to fire up all those comedy football thread alts and get the two towers votes rolling in!

(Jk, wouldn’t want to watch the THEATRICAL version. Puke)

oh boy a film club I can’t wait to watch …

*checks poll*

hmm never mind then

Isn’t it EXCITING!?

Is it the del Toro Hellboy on Netflix? I know the newer one is, just not sure if the older one is as well.

Mars Attacks is great fun and well suited to this kind of watch along, but I literally only watched it two weeks ago…

90ish minutes left to vote! :rotating_light: :rotating_light:

As if you’d be happy with any top choice

i pyar love videodrome but didn’t watch it that long ago, wouldn’t be right to vote
