I think that scene elevates it from a 9/10 to a 10/10 but that’s just me

TRIVIA TIME: Richard Linklater cast his daughter Lorelei Linklater as Samantha because she was always singing and dancing around the house and wanted to be in his movies. At about the third or fourth year of filming, she lost interest and asked for her character to be killed off. Linklater refused, saying it was too violent for what he was planning (Lorelei eventually regained her enthusiasm and continued with the project).

That’s it. It wasn’t a perfect narrative by any means, but I still thought it was decent if at times plodding. But on an achievement basis it deserves to be talked about fondly, imo. Still a million miles behind other Linklater films.

Trivia Time: A subplot of the film was inspired by an article in Time Magazine about David Phillips, a University of California civil engineer who stumbled upon a lucrative frequent-flyer promotion. By purchasing 12,150 cups of Healthy Choice pudding for just three thousand dollars, he accumulated 1.25 million air-miles.

Agreed. There are so few good directors for each of us why be stingy?
