I agree, but I’m still surprised. Ratatouille never gets spoken about in the same breath as Up, Wall-E, Toy Story etc, and I think it’s a shame. It’s a cracking film.

Anyone been on the ratatouille ride at Disneyland Paris? It is absolutely brilliant. The restaurant it is attached to has giant corks as chairs to make you feel like a small rat

Ratatouille is a more consistent film and probably hangs together better than up, but doesn’t have the same emotional heft for me, which factored into my voting. Not at all irked about ratatouille being higher overall

Brilliant film, Casey Affleck deserved the Oscar and Michelle Williams probably should have won too. The police statement bit and the invitation to lunch bit are two of the most devastating scenes I’ve ever seen.

Didn’t they spend millions on training the crew in fine dining too. Like they sent 55 people or something on a course. Not sure that was necessary.

Anyway, Ratatouille is great but if they did spend a year with rats why have they persisted with the rat trope that rats squeak? They do if they get hurt but at no other time yet when we hear the rats talking from the old lady POV they’re squeaking. Irked.

years since i’ve seen Ratatouille but it’s lovely
well ted i’m very cynical as you know but kinda see Up as pixar just squeezing everything they thought people liked about their films into one film. still good tho
