Trivia Time: The director and writer of the film, Damien Chazelle, could not get funding for the movie, so he instead turned it into a short film and submitted it into the Sundance Film Festival in 2013. The short film ended up winning the Short Film Jury Award, and he got funding soon after.

I’m expecting irks to fly on this one.

I loved seeing this at the cinema. Was Screen Unseen at the Odeon so had no idea what we were about to watch, and I hadn’t heard of it so it was a lovely surprise. The final sequence was breathtaking.

On rewatch I don’t love it quite as much, but it’s definitely one of my favourite cinema trips ever, the whole room was silent throughout which literally never happens in the Kettering Odeon as it’s mostly packed to the rafters with cunts.

same here. loved it first time, don’t think i even finished it the second time round
