woah, that’s a bit …strong?

(don’t know much about him or the ufc championship tbf)

Hate is probably too strong a word. He’s said some fairly racist things in the past, glossed over as ‘smack talk’. I don’t like his attitude too. This isn’t helped by the Irish media praising him as a demigod.

I thought he was ok until that India series which he seemed to be about 50% motivated by finding out about good curry and 50% by explaining that the empire was a wonderful thing for Indians who actually quite liked living in slums and playing cricket if only soppy western liberals would bother to actually ask them

before anyone tells me this isn’t a thing, this article from the atlantic described it as a bonafide ‘thing’ and i have just seen a white person using the darkest emojis (who also unironically posted “africa vibes” recently)

i fucking hate this. definite twats.

Aye
There’s also some story somewhere about him hearing another folk singers arrangement of Scarborough Fair - this other guy didn’t know anything about copyright © but Simon knew that you could copyright © new arrangements of traditional songs. So he invited this guy round for dinner and asked him to show him exactly how he played this arrangement and then the next day went and copywrighted it.

Not really as big a deal as the aparthaid stuff but evidence of obvious twatdom.

@eems

In light of this new evidence, I have recast my vote

Maybe they should just make them all blue and then it’s not an issue

What a horrible sneaky cunt

This never happened because that’s not how copyright works.

nah, everyone should have representation. if anything we should have more emoji skintones.

it’s clearly very weird?

Thought I might be hearing from you on this.i saw this on a music doc about 15 years ago might have for the details completely wrong but something like that. Any ideas what might have happened? (non sarc response please)
