1. Káryyn “The Quanta Series”

  • Really beautiful album. LA based Syrian refugee from Aleppo, heavily layered tracks about her childhood memories. Like a cross between Julia Holter and Jonna Lee.

2. Neil Murphy “Run Fast Sleep Naked”

  • Songwriting is so strong on this. He recorded the vocals in different places all over the world, whenever the mood took him on his travels. And the production is fantastic.

3. Andersson .Paak “Ventura”

  • He is just so damn listenable, and so damn charming.

4. Eto & Superior “Long Story Short”

  • Has that old Alt-Hip Hop sound - like King Geedorah or Cannibal Ox from back in the day. Clever rhymes over heavily orchestrated samples.

5. FONTAINES D.C. “Dogrel”

  • Garage punk, with the coolest dublin drawl and smart ass lyrics.

Of course - I meant “Nick Murphy” - not Neil. Whoever he is. Clearly confused by the shift from Chet Faker.
