Absolutely.

Despite the Wet Leg specific thread having quite a lot of replies, their exposure, the debate and a number one album they didn’t really win by much here. If there was another voter that had given their top pick to Kathryn Joseph and not put Wet Leg in their top 5 then Kathryn Joseph would have won this month.

So this is what picking a winner for the DIS AOTM thread feels like. Wo

Surprised how little love there was for Kae Tempest.

After a quick skip through, I can see this being a great summer record.

These threads are so useful. Would probably never have listened to Brainwaltzera without this but I think it’s probably my favourite electronic record since Skee Mask - Compro. Would have been my number one pick if I’d heard it before the vote.

Thanks to everyone that mentioned it!

It’s really excellent - took me a couple of listens to convince myself it wasn’t just pastiche well executed but t really seems to stand up well to the best of the genre as a cohesive album.

Yeah it’s not doing anything original obviously but it’s just consistently good all the way through.

edit: wrong act

This was tough to get my head in the right space to write it. Having 6 albums that you were waiting for come out on the 29th didn’t help!
Bet here we are.

Damn it, that image won’t change

Liking this for the effort and in sympathy for your disappointment, but wow we had different months. I’ve been listening to April releases every day since I voted on Sunday with 66 albums on my long list, now got another dozen or so that I’ve really enjoyed. Only Vince Staples and Let’s Eat Grandma were let downs for me.
