If you list a whole bunch of albums without making your selections clear I’ll take the first five mentioned as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. No joint positions please. Sorry to be a pedant.

Your album of the month will get five points, 2nd placed album four points, 3rd placed album three points, 4th placed album two points and 5th one point. If you name only one album I’ll give that five points. If you name two albums I’ll score them with five and four points etc. You get the message.

A very good month for me. I loved the Mallory Hawk album. It’s a great variety of 90s style indie for me. Definitely worth checking out.
The new one from Margaret Glaspy is a lovely country folk album.
Inevitably a lot of The New Eves in the Nina Winder-Lind album but some great Patti Smith-esque tracks in there too.
I enjoyed the Man/Woman/Chainsaw and Laura Veirs albums. A very good month for me for a change.

Always a lot of great recommendations from you guys about albums that I’ve missed or overlooked. I’ll see what you guys are listening to increase my new album listening this month.

Please forgive any shameless bumps of this thread during the week. I’ll keep this thread open until Sunday 6th September and so you’ll have over a week to listen to tomorrow’s releases if there’s anything out before choosing.

Strongest month of the year and possibly the first 10 with the new Lambchop record? Had a ten way tie for the fifth spot.

Didn’t get on with Westside Cowboy which was a shame as I enjoyed them live, but I might not have been in the right mood and with so many other options I’ve been less inclined to go back so far. For some reason I didn’t fancy a Mike D solo record, but listened out of duty and hey, it’s good!
