Nice write up on Emeka Ogboh here for anyone that’s interested in that record:

And a really good one from Sam Sodomsky on Yasmin Williams.

Really rate these records.

Road

I initially read it as playing The Roundhouse, which I thought to myself would be quite a big show for them…

Listened to this for the first time today off your recommendation. When the full beat kicks in on Danfo Mellow is pure chef’s kiss. Thank you

Yeah it’s a great record, though don’t want to take credit for the tip from @BigAl who was the one recommending this upthread, and he was bang on the money!

My changes:

1. Skyway Man - The World Only Ends When You Die

2. Teen Creeps - Forever

3. The Besnard Lakes - The Besnard Lakes Are the Last of the Great Thunderstorm Warnings

4. Grandbrothers - All The Unknown

5. Goat Girl - On All Fours

The Besnard Lakes is probably just as strong as Teen Creeps but it’s the latter that I’ll probably be going back to more often.

Liked the Goat Girl album a lot but probably not as much as their debut but can see it being a grower.

There’s not that much between 2nd and 5th choice albums but Skyway Man is far and away my favourite. A very strong month overall considering Taylor Swift didn’t have an album out.

goooood month! Thanks to Kiwi Jr I have “2021 tattooed on my ass” and many other great lines stuck in my head and it’s just what I need to see me through winter blues. Jours de greve is excellent slightly foreboding French art rock. Jim Ghedi using his big weird voice more is perfect for his doomy toilsome folk world. And Azmari and Pom Poko have only had a couple of spins but both top fun.
