I’ll keep the deadline for the votes as 12pm tomorrow as usual.
Enjoyable month.
Craven Faults, Muslimgauze, Rob Power, Yin Yin, Neue Grafik, Beck
Need to catch up on Lucinda Williams
6161, The Cure, Lone
Honestly one of my favourite music moments of the month is when those drum machines kick in during Stardust before Mary & Julianna serenely close out the album with Melted Moon. Just stunning.
Also on Fabiano Do Nascimento - did you check out his album Cavejaz that came out at the tail end of last year too? Again it’s a very chilled and mediative listen - thank you’d like it ![]()
Going to try to cap my lists at 50 per month this year. January should be easier than most months, but does feel weird not to have three new SAULT album in as a result. This was a really strong January, the top dozen here I feel would be in the mix up there in any month.
Also in the mix:
Lucinda Williams – World’s Gone Wrong
Jenny on Holiday - Quicksand Heart
Hania Rani - Sentimental Value
Laura Cannell - The Medieval Drone Society

I need to check out PVA. I saw them support Goat Girl at The Roundhouse a few years ago and really liked them.
I saw Clemenine March solo around Hackney in very early 2020 and loved her performance. I’ve seen her often in other artists’ bands such as Dana Gavanski and always like her contributions. I’ll her album out too.
It’s a lovely record isn’t it, perfect for floating around in. My youngest walked in during one of the more new age-y bits, she started cackling and doing this wiggly arm interpretive dance to it which made me laugh!
I’d never heard of Fabiano Do Nascimento before the description in the new release thread caught my interest tbh, but it’s another good vibe album. I’ll check out Cavejaz, thanks ![]()
Amazing bit of dad trolling there from your youngest ![]()
It doesn’t have to ambient-y synth washes of Aquáticos but it’s got more gentle acoustic arrangements with some soft drum work and flute-y flourishes. First had of Fabiano the other year through this collab with Sam Gendel which is purely acoustic guitar duelling against some mellow sax.

I enjoyed my first listen of Dry Cleaning’s latest but it’s gone down in my estimation with each subsequent listen.
Picked up Blackwater Holylight on the back of the new releases thread…think more people here should check it out.
Yep, would have been in my top 5. Probably 3rd. Really good album.
Wish I’d listened to Main Era - IV of Wands in time to include it, especially as I only had 4 albums for the vote.
