Vote for your favourite five albums. Make your selections clear please as it makes tallying up the scores easier. If you list a whole bunch of albums without making your selections clear I’ll take the first five mentioned as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. No joint positions please. Sorry to be a pedant.
Your album of the month will get five points, 2nd placed album four points, 3rd placed album three points, 4th placed album two points and 5th one point. If you name only one album I’ll give that five points. If you name two albums I’ll score them with five and four points etc. You get the message.
My choices: Quiet month for me. Spent a lot of the time reacquainting myself with bands I was seeing live in June. The Deliluh gig this month was one of the best of the year but the album isn’t in the same class but will probably make my top five. The Sinead O’Brien gig which lasted about three or four songs sounded better than the album also. Thought the Nova Twins album was great fun. There’s new releases by Soccer Mommy and Zola Jesus tomorrow and will give those a listen as well as stuff posted here before posting a top 5.

Always a lot of great recommendations from you guys about albums that I’ve missed or overlooked.
Please forgive any shameless bumps of this thread during the week. I’ll keep this thread open until Sunday 3th July so you’ll have over a week to listen to tomorrow’s releases before choosing.
Vote now!! (Or later in the week) but make your choices clear please.
By the way. I’ll do a “best of the year so far” thread after this month’s count from the top 10s compiled from each of the months this year. I’ve done that before and they’ve had enough responses to make another thread viable.
I’m not even halfway through my June playlist so that’s about 50 hours to listen to by Sunday. Honestly get myself more stressed by the cut-off for these votes than some of my work deadlines. Not that I think they should be extended, we just need less music to be released.
thread is weirdly empty, we’re normally all on top of this voting lark! think I was expecting another release day tomorrow, even though that’s gonna be into July obviously …
anyway!
Soccer Mommy - Sometimes, Forever
Horsegirl - Versions of Modern Performance
Free Cake for Every Creature (Katie Bejsiuk) - The Woman on the Moon
Companion - Second Day of Spring
Damu the Fudgemunk, Pan Amsterdam - EAT
Also worthwhile: The Zells, Teenage Tom Petties, Andrew Bird, Flying Moon in Space
Feels like the month has passed by very quickly without quite enough time to dig into as many of the new releases in as much depth as I’d like. Still, top 5 for me is:
Editrix - Editrix II: Editrix Goes To Hell
The Burning Hell - Garbage Island
Ghum - Bitter
Petrol Girls - Baby
Regina Spektor - Home, before and after
Others in consideration for the top 5 this month
