DiS Users' March 2018 Album Of The Month

Kind of an aside, but it’s sort of depressing me that I not only forgot that Titus Andronicus released an album but that it wouldn’t have placed anyway.

They’re playing in May at The Shacklewell if you’re a LME or nearby too.

Runners up are Young Fathers (pretty sure this will only grow on me through the year) and the new GBV. Great month!

  1. Voidz
  2. The Breeders
  3. Guided By Voices

new YLT is nice but what is up with that artwork.

  1. Lolina - The Smoke
  2. The Breeders - All Nerve
  3. Biosphere - The Hilvarenbeek Recordings

First month in 2018 that more than a couple of records have interested me and I’ve been too busy to even listen to:

Lost Girls (Jenny Hval)
Cavern of Anti-Matter
Mount Eerie
Anne Guthrie
Lucy Railton
C. Diab

1.Hot Snakes- Jericho Sirens
2. Yo La Tengo- There’s a Riot Going On
3. Amen Dunes- Freedom

  1. Amen Dunes - Freedom
  2. Albert Hammond Jr - Francis Trouble
  3. Jonny Greenwood - You Were Never Really Here OST

So late to the Hot Snakes party. This thread and the first few songs tell me loudly I need to rectify that urgently.

Really haven’t dedicated as much time this month to listening to new releases but from what I’ve heard it’s probably these three

  1. Young Fathers - Cocoa Sugar
  2. Yo La Tengo - There’s a Riot Going On
  3. Mount Eerie - Now Only
  1. Hot Snakes - Jericho Sirens
  2. Hysterese - Hysterese
  3. Speed of Snakes - Speed of Snakes

Honorable mentions: GosT - Possessor, Rolo Tomassi - Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It, Nervus - Everything Dies

  1. Wasuremono - Something Left Behind
  2. David Kitt - Yous
  3. Paddy Hanna - Frankly, I Mutate
  4. Hayley Heynderickx - I Need To Start A Garden
  1. Black Foxxes - Reidi
  2. Demob Happy - Holy Doom
  3. Public Access T.V. - Street Safari

1 - Hot Snakes - Jericho Sirens
2 - alva noto - Unieqav
3 - The Breeders - All Nerve

Both Camp Cope and Rolo Tomassi were very close to a top 3 spot, but it was such a good month. There are loads of really lovely moments on the YLT album, but hasn’t clicked as a whole just yet. Ever so slightly disappointed with Lucy Dacus and Soccer Mommy after the singles, but both enjoyable albums.

  1. Yo La Tengo
  2. Young Fathers
  3. Soccer Mommy
