Couldn’t get enough of that Fly Anakin record, it just really hit a sweet spot this month. Was instantly taken with the Hinako Omori and Aldous Harding records, both mesmerising listens. A totally triumphant and glorious return from Loop. And finally still letting Jenny Hval’s latest sink in, it’s good but it hasn’t caught me in the same way that the last couple have though.

Enjoyed but need to spend more time with: Destroyer, Denzel Curry and Sonic Youth

Need to listen to: Drug Church, Bodega, The Cool Kids, Roy Montgomery, CMAT

Ran out of time to properly evaluate things. Was able to get two listens in of Feeder and The Mysterines and I’m liking both. A nice surprise and a good discovery.

Only got to listen to DITZ once unfortunately, but the album sounds very promising. The ending sequence seemed especially great.

The PLOSIVS album has some good stuff on it too, as does the new Drug Church, but I’m not quite sure if they’re going to escape the “listening to this to see how much I like it” zone.

Absolutely amazing month, crammed full of five star albums and a ton of interesting music. Still got about 30 albums I reckon might be in with a shout of my list once I’ve given them a full spin but there are only so many hours in a month. Including Kush Jones here even though it was on bandcamp last year as I think both streaming and physical release was this month and it is a superb album not previously championed in these forums that I can see.
