I strongly suspect that the Tracyanne and Danny album will end up being one of my favourites from May, but given I haven’t actually heard it yet, I haven’t included it on my list

Great month. Really enjoying the Slow Mass album, good companion for the Big Ups album. Just came across Joe Passed yesterday This has the potential to be number one but not listened enough yet. Really hard to pin this down, in places it’s bossanovary era Pixies, even a bit Fugazi when they went all dreamy on that documentary soundtrack

That’s true also, but to me Andrew Savage is operating on a completely different level from everyone else lyrically right now. I like the Iceage album but I’m not loving it the way everyone else seems to be. It’s probably their most consistent and cohesive, but for me it’s missing something that pushes it into that upper tier of albums. Though I really like “Hurrah” and “Take It All”.

Ran out of time to do a final listen of each, so in case I’m still asleep by the deadline:

Beach House finally clicked today and jumped up the list. There isn’t much of a gap between any of these at the moment though, and each almost got the #2 spot.

On Arctic Monkeys I am really unsure. It is a huge departure for sure and I love parts of it greatly. But listening to it all the way through I find it all a bit one paced. I will keep with it because I think it could be brilliant, but at the moment it’s not quite won me over.
