Ran out of time to do a final listen of each, so in case I’m still asleep by the deadline:

  1. Parquet Courts
  2. Beach House
  3. Tropical Fuck Storm
  4. Stephen Malkmus
  5. Iceage
  6. Courtney Barnett

Beach House finally clicked today and jumped up the list. There isn’t much of a gap between any of these at the moment though, and each almost got the #2 spot.

Good month! I am going to say…

  1. Courtney Barnett - Tell Me How You Really Feel
  2. Beach House - 7
  3. TT - LoveLaws

On Arctic Monkeys I am really unsure. It is a huge departure for sure and I love parts of it greatly. But listening to it all the way through I find it all a bit one paced. I will keep with it because I think it could be brilliant, but at the moment it’s not quite won me over.

  1. Tropical Fuck Storm - A Laughing Death in Meatspace
  2. Pinkshinyultrablast - Miserable Miracles
  3. Courtney Barnett - Tell Me How You Really Feel

1 - DJ Koze
2 - Jon Hopkins
3 - Arctic Monkeys

An absolutely ridiculous month!

  1. Parquet Courts
  2. John Maus
  3. Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks

Although Wooden Shjips, Pusha T, Beach House and The Sea & The Cake could all steal that third spot!

Need to give more time to the Arctic Monkeys, Courtney Barnet, Tropical Fuck Storm and Mary Lattimore.

Based on mentions in this thread I’m gonna check out the Skee Mask and Jon Hopkins records.

Terrific month again. Here’s my top 3, which as per usual, are unlikely to trouble the scorers overly. Frankly could have placed them in any order. Also, love Parquet, Malkmus and C. Barns, but they have too many votes already so …

  2. Wooden ShjipsV
  3. Modern StudiesWelcome Strangers

Here’s some other stuff that I’d be happy to put in my top 3 too: No particular order …

After another listen today I’m already sort of thinking I should have given Tropical Fuck Storm first place, it’s feeling like a top three album of the year candidate right now. I’d highly recommend to anyone who thought that the rest of the album didn’t measure up to “You Let My Tyres Down” to give it a few more shots. I’ve found it to be really consistent after a few more listens and now almost every song is a candidate for the best one. I love the slow burn of the closer.

Was too late to vote but would have voted parquet courts anyway. Anything with FUCK TOM BRADY in it deserves to win every award.

The mellow grooves that run throughout that Wooden Shjips album are just fantastic - can see this album be played on my stereo all summer long!

I’d like to thank those in this thread that directed my attention to the Skee Mask album. It’s great.

Couldn’t agree more, this would have had my vote if I’d been on to it earlier. Possibly my AotY so far.
