Surprised Beach House aren’t getting more votes - thought they were peak DiS band. Clearly not.

snap.

  1. Parquet Courts - Wide Awake!
  2. Iceage - Beyondless
  3. Pusha T - Daytona

First two are nailed on, third place could have been any from Tropical Fuck Storm, Beach House, Jon Hopkins, Arctic Monkeys or DJ Koze. probably could have also had Stephen Malkmus and Courtney Barnett in the mix had I listened to them a bit more.

Just been giving that skee mask a spin after all you banging on about it, enjoying it, though it started a bit meh but then really picked up. Will certainly be giving more spins :+1:

No.s 2 and 3 are bands that I’ve been meaning to investigate but haven’t had the chance…so May has been a really good discovery month, too.

God I hope you get to a point where you can liken the two. Look forward to that actually quite sincerely, not taking the piss

Here goes then; lyrically, they both have a strong eye for detail with a surrealist edge, delivered in a proper taking the piss tone. “I put a taqueria on the roof, it was well reviewed, four stars out of five” is a lyric that could have come from either record.
