DiS Users' October 2018 Album Of The Month

Right now:

Jóhann Jóhannsson - Mandy (OST*)
Fucked Up - Dose Your Dreams
Thom Yorke - Suspiria (OST*)

with Daniel Brandt - Channels and John Grant - Love Is Magic bringing up the rear.

This could change whenever I get my hands on Robyn, Soap&Skin and probably whatever else I’ve missed in this over-rich month.

Individual track of the month: Jeremy Warmsley - Moment

*fuck you soundtracks are albums too

  1. Fucked Up - Dose Your Dreams
  2. Thom Yorke - Suspiria
  3. Daughters - You Won’t Get What You Want

VNV Nation - Noire. A return to form after the disappointing Transnational.

Soap&Skin is new to me - really enjoyed it on first listen. Final track is the sort of thing that would normally bug me but it’s really nicely done just as a little outro.
Presume you’d recommend her earlier albums?

Oh yeah. Theyre all excellent

What a cracking month. Need to mention a few others.
I can’t remember enjoying an album so much as when playing the new Fucked Up on a long solo drive recently. I just haven’t been back to it enough.
Cloud Nothings have just released their best in ages.
I need a little longer with Soap&Skin and Julia Holter, however both are excellent.
The B.ED. Album confirms Baxter Dury as one of my favourite current artists, a couple of the songs on this are as good as he’s done.

How great it is to have Cat Power back!

Insanely strong month, and so many could have made it in the top 3

So many good ones this month. Young Jesus, Laura Gibson and Daughters are probably my top three but I could come up with a pretty competitive top ten if I put my mind to it.
