If sufficient people are interested, I’m going to put on a game of Werewolf. Werewolf is a game of social deduction, backstabbing and MURDER. You may have seen the BBC show Traitors which started a couple of weeks ago, that is more or less the same kind of idea.
How it works:
For the first game, I’m going to limit it to 12 players. If all goes well and people want subsequent games, I’ll hopefully increase this to somewhere between 17-20.
At the start of the game, each player is randomly assigned a role. You are either a villager or a werewolf. The villagers aim is to find all the werewolves and kill them. The werewolves aim is to kill all the villagers. In a 12 player game there will be 3 werewolves and 9 villagers. Each night when the players retire to bed, the werewolves conspire and decide on a villager they want to murder. The next day, every one wakes up again to discover who’s been murdered.
The remaining players (werewolves and villagers) convene in the town hall to banish the person who’s raised the most suspicion. It could be someone who is too quiet, it could be someone who is too opinionated, it could be someone who has uttered one statement the rest of the group has deemed suspicious. Everybody votes in secret (and has the chance to justify their vote once I have revealed them) and the player with the most is voted out.
After the banishment, time will pass for the players to discuss before night comes again and the blood thirsty werewolves target another victim. The game continues until all the werewolves are gone or all the villagers are dead.
There are also two special roles:
The Seer: The Seer is arguably the most powerful and important Villager. The Seer wakes each night and targets a player using a magical ability. They are then informed by the moderator whether the player is a Villager or a Werewolf. The Seer must find a way to use that knowledge to help the Villagers without becoming the next target of the Werewolves.
The Bodyguard is a Villager that chooses another player to defend at night. That player is immune to any attack that night. The Guard can choose themselves, but not the same person twice in a row. If they choose another player to protect and that player is targeted, the bodyguard will be murdered instead.
So that’s the basic jist of it… I know @Mert_Aksac wants to play. Anybody else? I’ll take the first 11 people to reply with “IN” and we can go from there. With Christmas coming up and office parties etc, I’ll make a couple of polls once we have our players so we can decide on the frequency of the day/night cycle.
Any questions, let me know!
