Great, so I get to join the banter bus but I can only talk to one person? That’s the last time I made a witty reply to one of your comments, laefs!

(Not that I wouldn’t enjoy a conversation with @ericthefourth of course)

Thanks for the clarification, that’s interesting because I’m sure I heard it being referred to as ‘the troubles’. I defer to your obviously superior knowledge however :slightly_smiling_face:

Did you know that the gaol is number 1 activity on Trip Advisor?!

Of course not, I just meant you could provide each other with support when the scotch chat got too strong.

ah sorry, I feared it might have been a super easy question! I think I would give up the alcohol to be honest, I don’t drink much these days anyway.

Oh and thank you very much for the compliment

Hmm. That’s odd that they’d call it that! It’s a very weighted term in Ireland.

I studied Irish history in school and college and my interest in the Rising and War of Independence was prompted by being related to this man, a participant in both conflicts (and a relation of @Ruffers too!)

It is? No way! That’s great, it’s a fantastic, if eerie, place to visit. My friends live five minutes from it so I occasionally pop in when I’m up. My favourite pub in Dublin, The Royal Oak, is just down the road too.

It’s very possible that I got confused because I was in Belfast the week after. Was blown away by how super friendly everyone was in Dublin. There’s no immediate distrust of strangers that you get in south England.

Yeah, Dublin people are very friendly! Always up for a chat. I think it intimidates other Irish people as we can be quite reticent at times.

Absolutely the flying, that would be awesome. I’d spend the whole session delivering if it meant I got to fly.

@laelfy … you’re running through some dense darkened woods. It’s the middle of the night, cobwebs are getting all up in your face, there’s an owl ominously hooting in the far off distance, your heart is pounding and you have no idea where you are, but you know one thing for sure… SOMETHING IS CHASING YOU. You don’t know who or what but deep down you know that stopping is not an option. You are terrified because if you stop YOU WILL SURELY MEET AN UNTIMELY FATE… which is death, probably.

SUDDENLY you come to an old abandoned building. It’s dark, it’s dank, it resonates EVIL but you’re drawn to it because inside lurks hope… maybe there’s a portal to another dimension. Maybe there’s a wizard(lizard)! MAYBE there’s just another ominous owl…but the only other option is to keep on running into the potentially never-ending woods.

So lealfy, tell me, what are you having for dinner tonight?

Apparently we’re having steak.

That got my blood pressure up btw. I’d probably keep running…

Pfft, I’d go in the rank old building. There’s no way I could keep on running for that long. My current fitness would not allow such things!!

I’d go inside and get TOOLED UP!!!

If there were tools inside, if not I’d make do. Chuck the owl at it or… something.

Hey @laelfy

What’s the best and worst thing about Glashow?

Glasgow even

Worst: the rain
Best: everything else (but particularly the curries and people)

The portal to another dimension certainly tempted me.

Say you made lunch this morning took it to work and then we’re persuaded to go to Wetherspoons for lunch, would have the stuff you made for lunch for tea or make something else for tea and eat the lunch tomorrow?

What drink relaxes you most after a hard week’s work?

Would probably have the lunch for dinner, or more likely forget about it in the work fridge then have to throw it out.

The drink I always used to gravitate to when I was stressed (after the end of exams etc) was a double vodka and Diet Coke). I’m much less of a drinker now so probably some kind of fruit flavoured cider or a glass of sauv blanc.

Thanks everyone for the questions, I had a lot of fun talking about myself all afternoon. Thanks Eric for setting these threads up.
