Three most pivotal moments of my life is a very tough one, pivotal in terms of provoking change? In that case it’s very hard to look past the moment I was caught out with the gf of someone on my uni course prompting me to drop out, fuck up considerably but ultimately put me on the path to where I currently am having learned a lot about myself. Truly awful thing to have done and I regret it every day however.

Second would probably be leaving a tiny primary school which I hated and was bullied and starting at an enormous secondary school where I could blend in and find myself proper mates and friendships that have lasted for nearly twenty years now.

Third would be that time I started a thread about “Your Third X” which I think many would consider a crowning achievement in community.drownedinsound.com history.

I don’t mind Malteasers but fuck knows why they transcend products in the way they do. It would be like buying a pack of munchies and getting a minstrel in them.

Hi Ant, you seem like a good sort, would think I’d enjoy going for a pint with you.

My question, and it may have been raised before, is: Do you say “friend” in real life like you use it on here? I always find it mildly intimidating, like in and old film where they’ll say something like “We’re looking for no trouble, friend”. You know? Like they’re firmly reiterating the fact that they’re ‘friends’ because they’re cautious that it’s about to kick off.

Would you be able to give a vocaroo recording of you saying it in the manner intended?

Hello ma0sm, thank you for your question and your kind words. I do say “friend” sometimes in the real world, I can’t pretend that it wasn’t largely influenced by Javier Bardem in No Country For Old Men but I am not an intimidating presence in any way. I will consider making a recording but I hate the sound of my own voice so this will likely not materialise.

Hello wonton, thank you for your question. I’m not a huge war film person really, find it difficult to keep up with who is who in them and therefore largely find them quite boring. I do like Apocalypse Now however on accounts of the real world nuttiness of it all.

  1. if you could reform the squads of former world/euro/copa winners (dead squad members can’t be replaced), at their current ages, which is the most recent you think a DiS XI could beat?

  2. if you could take 1 and only 1 current footballer into the DiS team who would it be and why?

  3. 10 clones of a footballer to make up a team (they’re allowed a keeper) who would be the best

  1. I think DiS would have to fancy their chances against the surviving members of the 1966 World Cup winning squad due to the diminished numbers and age of the participants.

  2. Crouchy, for the bants

  3. I think peak era C Ronaldo has got to be my answer for A and probably B as well despite his diminishing ability on accounts of his unbelievable physical prowess and winning mentality, I don’t think I’d have any issues with him playing any position aside from perhaps centre half but I don’t think it would matter. My answer for C would be Matic probably, think he’d do a job at CB, was a winger in his youth etc

Hello Spunky, thank you for your question. The most recent gift I got my partner was a big full-length mirror which she liked however it was recently ruined by flood damage and is being replaced this very evening as it happens! (or Saturday morning, currently under discussion)
