Yes. I realised I needed glasses in secondary school when I had to keep sitting closer and closer to the front of the class in order to be able to read what was on the whiteboard.

My eyes are fucked, my prescription is something like -5.50/-5.75. I’m that person where when you try on my glasses you feel a bit queasy.

But they’re not so bad that contacts are a problem, and actually my prescription hasn’t really changed in 15/20 years. And, unlike some of my mates, my near vision isn’t going - when I was away the other week I thought my mate was being secretive with his phone, reading messages under the table. Turns out he had to hold it at arms length to read the message!
