Me releasing my album on the 11th

This is it. Even listening to everything everyone is doing is inspiration enough and feels a bit like we’re playing off each other in that regard (or maybe I’m just slowly ripping everyone off). But all the advice back and forth is really special. Still feel like I’ve got loads of growing and improving to do but would be absolutely nowhere if it wasn’t for all of youse

It also just feels way better to be making music within some sort of community rather than just totally hermetically and bouncing between the opposite ends of the same skull. Even if it isn’t literally collaborative, it still has more of a context to exist within or whatever

Hey folks,

It’s release day!

I wrote a long wall of text about this release on the Bandcamp page so I won’t repeat all of it. But I just want to talk about some of the more important bits. CW: death and coronavirus

The EP as a whole is supposed to be a snapshot of early April when we first went into lockdown in the UK. But the heart of the release is the final track “To Those We Should Have Saved”. It’s meant to encapsulate how I felt at the time (and more or less how I feel now) - grief, rage and numb shock at the death toll in the UK. I think we’re all in agreement on this forum that at least a significant proportion of deaths were avoidable had the government acted quicker, had the subsequent management of lockdown not been so shambolic, and had austerity not laid the groundwork for this all. I’m specifically addressing those who’ve died from Covid-19, but that’s not to forget those who’ve suffered (and died) from poverty, depression, homelessness and other illnesses during this time. I guess if there’s anything I’m trying to say with this EP is that we mustn’t forget all of this, and in the long term we mustn’t let those responsible avoid accountability.

I’m donating all of the money I make from this to Marie Curie (kindly suggested by @iamwiggy when I was stuck and not sure who to donate to, so thanks!) to support their work assisting the terminally ill (including those ill with Covid-19) and those around them. Bandcamp are doing a no-fee day today so it’s as good a day as any to pick up the EP and donate to a good cause.

It’s 3 drone-y, noisy and experimental tracks. A bit different to what I’ve done before. Thanks for checking it out and hope you enjoy it

I should be embarrassed by how many threads I’ve jagged up this morning, but I am a creature without any shame

Thanks for checking it out, glad you liked it!

Crazy to think we’ve still got @manches and @Elights still to come this month, after @BifoIsou last week we’re really being spoiled

Finally preordered @manches’ one and listened to the tracks that were available, and “Blimey” is very appropriately titled :grinning:

When we found out that @elights had gotten a guest spot from you everyone was very annoyed they hadn’t thought of asking first.

Lucky enough to have heard this already (can confirm it’s a banger) and won’t spoil it for anyone else but it contains one of my favourite lines of all time in any song. Delivered impeccably of course.

Long overdue, but some money donated to the cause from the USA. Disintegration state has brought me a lot of joy since the label started. Keep up the good work folks!
