It’s my pre-film snack (starts in about 10 minutes). Had a speciality cookie mid-morning and a crisp sandwich for dinner. Such a nutritious day’s dining!
EDIT: I know it’s because the glacé cherry is iced, but this is the most nipply cake I’ve ever laid eyes on.

Hmmm what’s this mysterious package?

Inside is a thoughtful justification for the choice of gift. Well-researched. Also a mention of Zoidberg :thinking:

Let’s see what’s inside

Superb gift! Thank you so much. Only the other day I was chatting to a mate about what graphic novels to read and he also mentioned Jeff Lemire. Well chuffed!

I genuinely don’t know who this is from, but maybe the Zoidberg reference is a clue? Looking at the HGWIR Futurama thread to see who is a big Futurama fan (and therefore clearly a GBOL) , I’m going to guess @kermitwormit?

Wow! Thanks very, very much to the generous and genius santa who got this socialist knitter a skein of super fancy Countess Ablaze yarn in a colour called ‘Does Boris have a ditch in mind or can we choose one!’ I love it!!! Also for the very yummy stroopwafels, which I won’t be sharinh. Absolutely no idea who you are so total stab in the dark @anon76851889

Thanks A LOT my family were stunned! It’s our Christmas Day with my step kids today so this was under our tree with all our other gifts.

You’re very welcome. Sorry I’ve been working away so it was all a little chucked together. Glad the gift made up for the presentation

Goes rather well with the skein of countess ablaze I cast on for a pair of socks with last night. Hope you and all the other DiS Santas have a great Christmas.

 correct. I’m glad it fit through your letterbox! The keyring does double up as a bottle opener apparently btw hence the cryptic poem. Hope you like the coffee. I forgot to bloody wrap the face mask aswell which is why it was stuck on seperately  :see_no_evil:

Okay so part 2. This is just the most thoughtful and creative thing ever. I had to take a pic of the wrapping paper because I’ve carefully unfolded it all and hopefully will be able to think of a use for it. It’s gorgeous.

so weird cos I was saying the other day that I don’t have any Christmas tree decorations and was hoping to build up over the years so I absolutely adore these. And the lovely hand painted(?) bookmark and notepad <3 so pretty. I can’t bring myself to break the little origami box (did you make the truffle box from scratch too?) @anon89873996 it must be you? So clever and creative if so x
Thankyou soooooo much xoxox

I’ve often thought there should be a stack of them at all of the main railway stations in London, under a big banner saying “Have you come to live here? You’ll need to read this first”

Ho ho ho :santa:

So glad you liked it all! Was terrified the truffles wouldn’t make it in the post so very relived they arrived ok. I can send you a link to the basic recipe if you want, they were so easy and adaptable (hence the creation of Mince Pie truffles when the most interesting liqueur I could find was a mince pie gin one!)

The bookmark, decorations and notebook were done with posca paint markers, the birds on the card were as well but the background was water colour.

I did make the truffle box as the one I bought turned out to be far too big, that was the most fun and most frustrating part all at once.

All the paper is from my big stack of Christmas origami paper, and when @cutthelights posted the wreath I’d made from it as part of his present from a couple of years ago up thread I was thinking that was a give away if you hadn’t already guessed.

Sorry, super long post - just so glad you liked it all :grinning: I was determined to stay in the recommended budget this year so I had to think creatively.

Not only do I love the inscription @JaguarPirate

it reminds me of something my A-level English teacher (the same guy who convinced us the house cat in his uni digs was called Cooking Fat because it was white and we’d never heard of spoonerisms) used to say. If he found a book he loved he made a point of giving it away, so someone else had chance to enjoy it.

Yes please. The recipe would be much appreciated especially what you did for the white choc ones

Those posca paint markers look great. I now need to purchase some. Honestly you are very talented. The bookmark is so lovely. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Posca are the best, so fun to use and versatile.

Here’s the recipe:

The white chocolate covered ones I put in the last bit of coffee squeezed out of the filter of my cold brew jug, about two teaspoons worth I’d say? So just that much of any strong brewed and cooled coffee should work
I did try the recipe with white chocolate for the actual truffles as well and the results were delicious, but it wouldn’t set so wasn’t postable unfortunately.
