We could do a top 50 surely. Jimmy Hart clear 5/2 favorite, but Paul Bearer a sneaky 8/1 in vegas.
Doubt Bulldog will rank (whether he wants to or not) but very happy for him getting into the Hall of Fame finally (whenever that ends up being)
Quite honestly Davey Boy might have been my first introduction to England as a youngster. He’s deserves a spot in the hall of fame because from what I remember the Bulldogs always fueded with the Dream Team of Greg the HAMMER and Brutus (both made my list).
Man this thread is bringing back some joyous memories I’m really looking forward to it!
Might get my dad to sign up for an account just so he can get in this thread.
He brought me to Wrestle Mania in Hartford, CT 1995. I’m a diehard NY Giants fan and Lawrence Taylor came out and fought Bam Bam. One of my greatest childhood memories.
what a lineup!!
forgot Shawn Michaels fuuuuckk.
That’s all right we will do a top 100 tag teams next and I’ll get the Rockets in there.
Oops me too
Marty ‘Saturn V’ Janetty and Shaun “Falcon 9” Michaels
It’s weird which wrestlers are getting forgotten. Just had the first vote in for Shinsuke Nakamura. If we’d done this list before he’d joined WWE, I’m convinced he’d have been the highest ranking non-WWE wrestler in the list. Tells its own story I suppose…
I voted for Mr Fuji in the wrestlers vote - mainly for his work as a tag wrestler, but partly for putting up with being dressed as Odd Job for five years or so.
Gave a point to the Bulldogs as a tag team as that’s when they were good - nothing for Davey Boy on his own.
He was better when he played for Celtic.
Never seen him outside WWE - he’s clearly a wasted talent in their roster; even his intercontinental runs have been pretty dull and his programme with Styles petered out rather than building to a decent climax. Can’t in all good consciousness vote for someone I’ve never seen have a good run/entertain me much, good as he is.
They should have kept up with the “No speak English” heel character rather than just stop booking him.
Fucking love Shinsuke. Easily my favourite Japanese wrestler. Can’t believe you guys are all busy voting for Bret Hart and Ric Flair.
voting closes at 2pm babes
will kick things off today too, why not
how many voters / people voted for so far please jooky? we got enough for a full top hundo?
Blimey, that’s a slice of history. How is it to have attended what is regularly suggested as the worst Wrestlemania of all time (which the current series arc of OSW is culminating at, FYI)
Yeah definitely timing. I love Shinsuke but I barely think about him anymore, (and tbf I got into New Japan after his run so only know his match with Styles) haven’t done for a long time, it’s so sad. Hopefully he’ll be back in NJPW when his contract is up and save his career.
Shinsuke had some absolute classics in NJPW, he was the first leader of CHAOS before Okada, and his matches with AJ helped lift them out of the funk they’d gone through in the early 2000’s and re-introduce them to the Western audience before Kenny and Okada started building on that buzz. Undoubtedly one of the most charismatic and influential (practically inventing the stiff mma influenced indie style so common today) wrestlers of the last 20 years. But he more or less outwardly admits he’s phoning it in in the US. He’s picking up a paycheck for his kids and enjoying surfing in Florida. He doesn’t really care how he’s booked.
I’m sure us Ruthless Aggressioners will pay Shawn his due
don’t think it’s entirely the fed’s fault tbf, he was pretty underwhelming in nxt as well, debut match aside. think he’s pretty happy to phone it in, get paid, and go surfing. fair play tbh
or what ruffdawg said, basically
