He had in my opinion 3 of the finest matches in WWF history against Austin, Owen, and with Neidhart against Demolition at Summerslam 90. Plenty of matches near that too, particularly against Shawn, Mr Perfect and Roddy Piper.
He made stars and was believable, and his heel promo work in 1997 was absolutely outstanding. Also played a part in the most infamous moment in wrestling history. The double whammy of Owen’s death and his stroke is an especially acute tragedy, he is undoubtedly one of the best ever.
He is in fact at this moment, my no.6 pick (card subject to change).
