In Wales I meant, but yeah some English people still have trouble recognising the accent

It’s probably the same idiots who think I’m australian.

That I’m making assumptions about them.

nailed on for xylo but I live in a village, own no colourful jeans, and only one waistcoat which I haven’t worn since I put on too much weight for it (Summer last year) if not longer than that.

Troubadour in that I play an acoustic guitar at times, I will let you have, I suppose.

-Younger than I am (apologies for being short and not being built like a 7ft tree person)

-Massive pothead (Sorry mate you were just being boring hence me zoning out)

-Posh (because I remember my P’s and Q’s)

I both get this, and the assumption that I’m a lot shorter and crucially much, much thinner/lighter than I actually am, and then the rude remarks about my weight come in once they notice I’m just kind of medium size, rather than the tiny they were assuming.

The weed thing is also annoying. Just bc I smoke rollies doesn’t mean I like weed!

That I’m the life of the party cause I tell a joke or two

i mean, i do and all, but still the assumption is annoying. Especially at work.

Got yourself a little joint there have you? bet you love a abit of that wacky baccy. Roll one for me.

I used to get that, but then I started wearing items of clothing other than really baggy plaid flannel shirts, cut my hair and trimmed my beard.

sort yourselves out, lads.

Last week then?

Oh and I’ve had people assume I’m really posh.

All the time. Where to start.

  • I look older than I am, usually when I have a beard. People openly say to me that I look old for my age.

  • That I want to have children. I don’t. A lot of people get that though!

  • People never expect me to like football.

  • But the big one is my skin. I’m half Greek Cypriot and people often mistake for pretty much anything else, and never expect me to be half Greek or you know, English. Been told I look Egyptian, Italian, Spanish, Pakistani (in less polite terms), French, mixed race, and Indian which I’ve been told by Indian people no less. I’m ambiguously beige/brown. It’s kind of infuriating but only properly when people are actually trying to start a fight with me over it and telling me to fuck off home or whatever. On new years eve when someone asked me my name and I said George, they looked surprised and said “Oh, I really expected something more exotic”.

Absolutely charming! I’m sure you put these pigs in their place?

shirts aside you’ve got me nailed…

point taken

Unfortunately not limited to people from dating websites (don’t even get me started on them). I’m an absolute public creep magnet.

This is why I’ve cultivated that stare.

Can’t say I have that problem I’m afraid - never been a smoker as I’m rather asthmatic

It did. Not just anyone from Countdown, either, the GOAT player (who I used to fancy. I haven’t fancied anyone who’s not won a series of Countdown for nearly 5 years now.)
