And now that movies is such a huge industry, there are so many different kinds of actors as well that I just think ti’s rather futile to try to name ONE SINGLE PERSON as greatest of their generation.

Don’t know about greatest, but I love Amy Adams, who can do roles as diverse as Enchanted and The Master and be amazing in all of them. Can’t wait to see her in Arrival and Nocturnal Animals next month.

If we’re testing the validity of concept, shouldn’t we look at the previous generation to see if they’re really was a ‘greatest’? Hype would suggest Pacino, De Niro and Streep as the obvious candidates.

Mark Rylance, Bill Murray, Sean Penn, Kevin Spacey, Sean Harris and Javier Bardem are all genuinely great actors, i think.
Day-Lewis is obviously talented but has made a surreal amount of really boring films.
