Usually but not technically always.

Like, i keep one in my handbag and there are a few around the living room, but if I urgently needed to write something down while, idk, in the bath or in the gym I wouldnā€™t have one within armā€™s reach right at that moment. I feel like nobody always has a pen with them.

you feel wrong. thereā€™s a pen in my bathroom cabinet. i take my bag with me to the gym (which has at least one pen in it)
