I’m always the last one to finish my meal because I eat so slowly. Annoys me at buffets, because then it just makes me look like I’m eating so much more than anyone else.

At home, retiring to the sofas for some drinks before dessert is perfectly acceptable, especially if you have been gorging yourself.

I tell you what is a problem though is that if you go out as a couple and the food comes really quickly and you don’t want coffee and then bang you are out of there in an hour!

Think this is what my in-laws try and counteract. I need a happier medium though. Might only exclusively dine at restaurants offering elaborate tasting menus from now on. McDonald’s Saver Menu for instance.

But there’s my worry, that it’s already in the process of being cooked/already is cooked and then it sits under a lamp until the bruschetta has worked its way through my dad-in-law’s colon a bit.

Maybe that’s going to be my thing. I order a starter and then order the main after. Would be a good quirk for a regional TV detective.

I do eat too fast. It is a result of growing up with three sisters and having what dinner that wasn’t served on the table, so it was essentially a race for seconds.

My parents used to say I ate so quickly that they should stick go-faster stripes on my knife and fork, which, come to think of it, doesn’t even make sense since they were trying to get me to eat slower.
