Yeah, tbh I forgot everyone on DiS is older than me

I guess the other thing is that around 30s people start having families of their own and that tends to dwindle the socialising a bit or at least change the social groupings for them.

I don’t have any of my current team on there but do have a lot of former colleagues. I don’t have an issue with it as i don’t now do anything that could end up on facebook that i would mind work knowing about (much too boring).

I don’t have enough friends so am happy to make friends with anyone from work who isn’t a knob

As soon as one of the people at my last job sent me a friend request, I panicked and deleted my Facebook account altogether.

I live 40 miles away from where I work. Also, most of my colleagues are accountants, or really into football, or both.

No. I get on well with them but I think it’s nice to maintain boundaries.

Certainly not, have added a few after they’ve left if I liked them.

Yeah, some. I got a FB friend request from our CEO. Pretty much felt I had to accept that.

Dude that’s what DiS is for. Sweeping generalisations !

I can tell from this that you’ve never met a patent twat.

I do !

Only really use Twitter, so follow a few people who post interesting stuff.

It’s a pretty big firm, so when I joined it, I was aware that some of my FB friends (old school or uni pals, or people I just knew) worked there. I wasn’t exactly going to unfriend them!

In my old firm I had two of my closest work friends on FB but that was it. I’ve now got more from the old place now that I don’t work there any more.
Back in the day when I was afraid of someone tagging me dancing on Mojos’ bar at 3am on a Tuesday, I was properly para about having workmates on there. But now any 3am postings on a tuesday are me complaining about toddlers who don’t sleep, and far lass likely to have me sacked.

That’s sounds awful and not very west-of-Scotland.

I’m really old and I have a load of old colleagues I’m friends with on FB and consider to be actual friends

To be fair it’s pretty hard for a toddler to get to sleep in Mojo’s bar.

I block them from seeing my Instagram stories because they don’t deserve that good stuff.

Nope. Should probably be on the work group chat in case anyone needs a shift swap, but apparently it’s full of mindless non-work talk.

One colleague who I like a lot and has a kid the same age as me, we occasionally hang out outside of work, so we’re friends on Facebook.

My boss follows me on Twitter which is slightly annoying, but doesn’t throw me off my excellent posting game too much.

Have a WhatsApp with two colleagues which we use to slag everyone else off.

Have a rule, only once people leave.
