Think I read somewhere that they taste awful. Explorers had a nibble etc

Yeah but like awful chicken or awful fish?

It’s going to be like a really greasy and tough version of duck, isn’t it?

I don’t know Keith, that’s why I asked the question.

They taste like ā€œa piece of beef, odiferous cod fish and a canvas-backed duck roasted together in a pot, with blood and cod-liver oil for sauceā€.

I’ll take 2 please!

No mention of chicken, fish takes it!

Or mint, or orange, depending on what kind

I can’t wait for someone like Ottolenghi or Blumenthal to suggest cooking penguin in something that isn’t cod liver oil and suddenly making it fashionable.

Forgot to mention the overwhelming taste of sadness that comes from eating such a hilarious animal

I’ve tried one, and they taste a bit like swan.

ā€˜bit of both’ is such a cop-out answer

Apparently seagulls taste very much like fish, so I’d expect penguins, who spend more time in the sea and eat even more fish, to taste even fishier

Same with puffins (my friend went to the Faroes and ate a puffin, he doesn’t recommend it)
