Do you wear pants under long john's?

Just bought a pair of long john’s for the first time ever, because, cold innit.

Question is are they long pants or should you wear Y-fronts or something underneath?

(I usually wear boxers under mine because otherwise I’d feel like I have to wash the long John’s every day which isn’t practical on a trip etc)

My underpants are the first line of defence against the anus and penis, so always beneath long johns.

Thermals were a revelatory discovery for me last year.

I spent the whole winter with an underlayer, giving me an additional bit of warmth to help fight the urge to turn the radiator temperature up.

They feel fine without pants, they basically are pants that go down to your ankles.

Yeh I wear undies under long John’s.

Might wear them if I was going on a hike in maybe -5 or something.

If I “had” to wear them whist the weather is so mild I’d pehaps leave the undies off so my balls don’t over heat

Yep another here for pants under long John’s.
Uniqlo heat tech is flipping amazing. Got a set of the regulars and the ultra warm as well as long sleeve tops and socks. It has changed how much i enjoy being in the house so much.

I’ve had them on for a few weeks! But mainly as been WFH and my house is freezing.

I was very confused initially as “pants” in the US are what you might call trousers, not underpants, so you see I wondered why anyone would wear jeans etc. beneath long johns and not over them.

I wear underpants beneath long johns. Only ever wore those when I lived in much colder climates or when doing snow sports. Or those few days a year it might be well below freezing.
