Documental / Last One Laughing

I genuinely don’t know if this will ever be topped. I still laugh just thinking about it

Series 2 not quite up to series 1, but still one of the funniest things on telly. Watch with my whole family and we’re just laughing throughout. The jokers are patchy but when they are good they are amaizing. It wasn’t big, it wasn’t clever, but I don’t remember laughing harder recently than Diane’s joker. And I’ll echo the Alan Carr love, didn’t think I cared for him really but he’s a deeply funny man.

I do think it suffers a bit from the problem any programme that whittles down its contestants does. There’s that much more going on, more people to root for and enjoy at the beginning. Personally I thought Mitchell was excellent througout, but having him and Sam at the end wasn’t ideal for laughs.

Also, Jimmy hosting this sort of thing/8OOTCDC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jimmy anywhere else

How on earth he didn’t lose it during that I don’t know

Think there was more out there stuff that got lost in the edit

A real shame and not just for the desperately horny viewers

Yeah see this is the stuff I wanna see, people going to extremes to make others laugh. Put some effort it, be outrageous.

I thought it was continuous filmed and was just filmed and edited, Jimmy Carr says “cut” and they stop shambles.

Nah, don’t agree - the jokers allow people to craft something quite brilliant into a couple of minutes. If anything I’d have more of them and far less of people saying offensive things in the hope it gets a giggle. Apart from ‘Fuckingham’ of course, but then that was scripted as part of a joker.

Was very happy with David Mitchell winning, as I’ve been a fan for a long time, but can tell a lot of people on here don’t like him.

Would very happily lose both Jimmy Carr and Roisin Conaghty.

If you watch the Japanese one you’ll realise how good it gets when you just let them simmer. Certainly Jimmy did not need to get involved with five minutes left, one of them might have laughed if they weren’t forcibly shoving food in each other’s faces.

Was Danny dyer a joker. Or something else?

Think he was like Madeley a randomer brought in by producers

Should’ve had more Natasha Demeteriou and Ellie White tbh

Yeah I fucking hate him, both as a presenter and for his stand up bullshit, but this has the rare thing of him actually laughing for real and also being quite a side thing so it’s bearable.

(Absolutely cannot stand 8OOTCDC though.)

Good in spite of Rebel Wilson or does she do well here?

Edit: amused to see it’s for 100,000 bucks while the UK one is just for a shitty trophy.

She’s better than Jimmy Carr

I believe this is one of the definitions of damning with faint praise on the Wikipedia article, in fact.

Really enjoyed it - Sam was terrific, like, he’s an alien, right? I mean, he’s so detached from reality. Wonderfully funny though. Wanted more Alan Carr, he was ace. I was crying with laughter at David Mitchell’s terrible standup, honestly, I’d pay to see that, thought it was incredible. Solid series, imho.

The Jokers are good as well.

The bad stand up routine is a copy of this from 30 years ago!
