Most people from where I grew up were born in Bellshill I think, but I was Rottenrow.

Had a few surgeries there when I was a young child and some of my earliest memories are of this incredibly large hospital with endless corridors. Went there a few years back and it wasn’t my young mind playing tricks, it’s absolutely massive.

Had my wisdom teeth out there though.

My primary school has merged with another school and moved locations. The building still exists and is now a bonsai tree farm.

I think that’s where I was born, my parents said they couldn’t remember or something. I can’t remember.

I play hockey against Rottenrow - such a terrible name for anything

… weren’t you?

The hospital I was born in was demolished and turned into flats.

I spent a year living in one of the flats.

The first time I went back to the town I was born in was courtesy of a pniks bike route. Thanks niki. Thiki.

A cousin of mine later worked in the hospital she was born in, and when it closed and was due to be demolished, salvaged one of the sinks to put in her kitchen.

Always thought that was a bit odd, really
