Dog Faced Hermans

Scottish 80s/90s no-wave post-punk with occasional viola/trumpet squattercore legends DOG FACED HERMANS have remastered one of their underrated masterworks Those Deep Buds and put it up on the Spotify. Here’s one! Have a listen!

Where’d they go? One is in THE EX, one is a sound engineer, one is a lecturer, and the other drums about a bit.

Please write below to say how good this band are or if you have any memories of them or The Ex or Stretchheads or Badgewearer or Ron Johnson Records or ANYTHING.

do you like Long Fin Killie? I can’t remember, feel like I either recced them to you or you already liked them or I nominated a tune to Music League when I briefly participated

honestly with a CV like this there’s no way you’ll not like this lot.

here’s another just in case you need more persuading.

Not a name that stands out again but there’s been a lot of MLing

Will also check!

Liar! They’ve featured in Music League twice! Each time I’ve gone “ooh, should really listen to more of these guys” and then never bothered my arse.

WOAH WEIRD

My bandmate was recommending this to me on Wednesday night. The universe is telling me something!

This Post Paid For By PROF$.

have you seen them smash this one over the heads of actual Americans in that America? the viola bit at the end makes my trousers fly clean off my body. 51.49 if this timecode fails like everything does.

if this is the way the universe is going, we might just be alright

I remember watching them on FSD on BBC Scotland, it was great show and exposed me to loads of good stuff. Just 36 years ago :grimacing:

phwoar. if I’d seen that in 1988 my life would be so much different. mainly because I’d be Scottish but also I’d have been a 5 year old anarchist.

They played a show in Leamington with Jackdaw with Crowbar back when LAMP was a live venue. Genuine contender for best gig ever.

Long Fin Killie is yer man Luke Sutherland that used to play with Mogwai a lot (mainly violin). Mark E Smith is on a track.

Been recommended them a lot and they’ve come up in ML but only finally put on the album a few months ago.

I have listened to Dog Faced Herman and enjoyed them. First heard in 2018 but it’s been a few years now since I listened.
