We’re going looking for a mate (as in pal) for Honey this weekend.
Yes! What is he/she?
I’ve spoken with so many shelters this last couple of days. The major problem we’ve found is that most of them seemingly aren’t happy for the vast majority of their rescue dogs going to homes that have both an existing dog and children. I considered getting rid of the children.
Any dogs that are suited to such an environment get snapped up immediately.
The local shelter have suggested that Bramble is perfect for us though. Fingers crossed that Bertie actually likes him.
Two dogs, two cats, a parakeet and half a dozen gerbils. If you could pick them up that would be helpful.
I hope Bertie and Bramble get along
i hope they get an instagram account
Oh, we’re not that far. We’re just going browsing/registering general interest.
I’ve seen a lot of dogs that have been stated unsuitable for children under a certain age, and some (although this often seems to be based on breed) unsuitable for households which already have dogs.
To those asking about two dogs, our plan is to get a rescue as soon as Martha is older/has chilled a bit.
I met, and fell in love with, this fella today:
Him and Bertie got on brilliantly too. Subject to a home check, he’s ours!
Wish rescuing would be a possibility when mine gets a bit older, but living alone and working makes it a non-starter. Fingers crossed for your home visit and the two of them being best of friends!
Definitely mainly Cocker. There might be something else in the lineage though.
oh dear god, I’m in love congrats!!
Thanks @PocketMouse. We’ve had the home check this afternoon, and passed. I’m bringing Bramble home in the morning!
Congrats weeber, looks a stunner!
Ahhhh I am SO happy for you!
