Been sleeping with the windows open for the last two weeks or so which has meant that every night around midnight I hear a huge flock of seagulls making an absolute racket for about 5-10 minutes. They sound like they’re about half a mile away. What goes on every night that makes the seagulls go crazy?

I’ve seen a herring gull take a baby Egyptian goose off St James’s Park lake.
Black headed gulls are really not terribly big and if you’re scared of eating chips near them then you’re a wimp.
