Eggs in this country aren’t washed before going on sale so they keep their natural protective covering which keeps them fresh without needing the fridge. If you’re in the USA, however, they bleach and wash the eggs and therefore the fridge is necessary. That’s what I read in the Guardian anyway.

if only you knew

abandoned a reply about the supreme modesty of my own fridge as I couldn’t get it under 1,500 words

they go in the cupboard!

Eggs definitely go off quicker when they aren’t refrigerated. This is anecdotal but also FACT

Love getting fresh farm eggs that last for fucking ages. No fridge eggs for me.

You have a cupboard? Flash fuck!

I though you would have had one of these:

My ma keeps chickens and it’s always proper shite going back to supermarket eggs afterwards

Supermarkets have eggs with all the ambient shit so I tend to live my life by how supermarkets present their food.

Pick me up a dozen eggs while you’re there

Have you ever slow cooked an egg on your heated airer?

Can’t say I have.

Do you want to know something?

We are running a dehumidifier in conjunction with a heated airer (when the weather does no permit outside drying). Those clothes don’t know what the fuck has hit them.

TV makes cups of tea then puts the wet stirrer spoon on top of the teabag jar, which over time leaves a gross, sticky brown patch on top. I have suggested using my method of running it under a tap for like, a second to rinse it, and then put that on the drainer for the next cup of tea, but to no avail.
