I really don’t get whats going on here.

You dust the room with a duster or whatever. And then you hoover the room.

You’re not using the hoover to suck up dust from the TV stand/sides etc?

And @anon5266188 liked her post, suggesting he feels the same. Feel like my personal brand’s really taken a knock here, I was convinced I was going to harvest the likes for my great, great analogy

yes I am! I get the hoover nozzle with the brush and run it over every surface to get rid of 99% of the dust.

I then hoover the floor as normal, and then go around with a duster to clean the surfaces

So you’re not wiping it with some polish or wipes or anything?

Sorry, friend. I was amused (as usual) by Meo’s wonderful phrasing, I did get your analogy.

yes at the end!

Just for 100% clarity:

Step 1: Use hoover nozzle on all surfaces to clean up dust as much as possible
Step 2: Use hoover on floor as normal
Step 3: Use polish and duster on surfaces for any remaining dust

However the TV does a regular dust and then a regular hoover. I’ll go back in and there is still some dust on the surfaces.

not anymore

Brexit means brexit!

You hoover every surface in your house?

You… put her on a stand?

One of my mates once pretended to cc in the head of HR at my old company to a gargantuan email chain that would have reflected poorly on a number of us. He’d changed a lower case L to a captial i. Everyone just straight-up assumed he’d actually cc’ed her which upset him a bit.

Pretty much:

  • mantelpiece
  • TV stand
  • hifi stand
  • book shelves and cases
  • desk
  • bedside table
  • dresser
  • skirting boards

Don’t do it in the kitchen or on tables

Was this meant to be in the filth thread?

I can kinda see where you’re coming from now with your hoover first dust second policy, but it appears to based on the premise that you would hoover a desk. Which just seems wrong.

I’m from the ‘toilet brushes are rank but necessary’ group, but my TV is strictly against toilet brushes so we don’t have any. Stubborn skids have to be attacked with some tissue if above the surface before banging some toilet duck down to get it shifted. Annoying, especially with a toddler who due to ergonomics always leaves a skid.

welcome to the future, my friend.

Surprised you don’t hoover it up.

Not sure if this is domestic (it isn’t) but in an old job there was always shit stained toilet paper in the bin near the sinks. Just flush it in the toilet you prick!
