Don't you just love man-made structures next to spring greenery

On a sunny day

Pump track.

I love alleyways and nettles.

Footpaths at the bottom of streets that you never knew were there, carefully avoiding the overgrown nettles leaning in either side, leads out onto a huge field you never knew about, etc

A little step you have to go up.

Man-made stuff mingling with nature > pure nature

Yes. The power station thingy at Chorlton water park is great

I find it quite jarring, like when I’m at my local nature reserve and am surrounded by trees and cows and then I catch a glimpse of wembley stadium in the horizon

a single brutalist block of high rise flats in the middle of a forest or rolling fields or next to a cliff:

  • a weird but cool thing to think about
  • what

This only exists in Spain and Planet of the Apes films.

This is also my second shoutout this week to the worsley woods bunker

If you walk to town through the big park here you suddenly get a great view of a building called Stadium House right in the middle of all the trees. It’s one of my favourite views. For some reason I can’t find a picture of it, so you’re going to have to trust me on this.

I’ve been campaigning for this joint to change it’s name for some years now; there’s no big slide, no lazy river, you just can’t go getting folks’ hopes up like that.
