They must want a number one album even more than Nicky Wire.

There’s also an exclusive CD with extra tracks on their website for the same price

It’s cheaper than the standard one but I guess that’s because it’s just in a cardboard wallet.

Good to hear he’s got a fairly positive outlook on everything given what he’s been dealing with <3

Went to the aviva studios gig last night. Was great fun, good setlist. Jimi was missed but was still a great gig

Now a little time has passed, I’m curious as to how y’all would rank the new album among the band’s discography. For me it’s…

The Last Broadcast > Lost Souls > Constellations for the Lonely > Kingdom of Rust > Some Cities > The Universal Want

I love all their albums, so that’s not intended as a slight against TUW or anything, but this new one really is their strongest collection of songs in a good while. Am still quite underwhelmed by the last song, but I don’t think they put a foot wrong anywhere else on the album.

I like it while listening but afterwards I can’t really remember the songs that much.

I went as well. Like you say, it was a good gig. Jimi’s presence and voice was definitely missed. I liked the message onscreen at the beginning: ‘Fail we might, but sail we must’.

Mine isn’t too far off yours. Lost Souls > Last Broadcast > Constellations For The Lonely > Kingdom Of Rust > The Universal Want > Some Cities

Enjoying the new one.

Hard to rank though, all I really know is that I don’t care for KoR, and Lost Souls is still by far the best.

This got to number 5, very good result considering they were up against some bigger acts.

That was Weatheralls motto wasnt it. Love the story of where it came from.

Didn’t realise that tbh, but it did definitely fit what they’re attempting.
