I floated the idea of a 2005 listening club over in Sean’s recent best of 2004 thread, I thought I’d have a go at organising and running one. So, here’s how I’m proposing it would work:
submit me (preferably by PM, but in this thread is also fine) a list of albums you really like from 2005 - somewhere between five and ten please. You don’t need to put them in order but you can if you wish
I will tabulate all the responses
I’ll take the top 35 most-voted for albums and, to make sure it doesn’t just end up totally predictable, 15 random ones from the rest of the responses, and make a long list
I’ll then order them roughly based on when they came out in 2005 and - bingo - we have a a weekly listening club, with two weeks off at the end of the year for Christmas
And, hey, it’s friday afternoon! You’re probably not doing a whole lot of work! So it’s a totally good time to dip into some nostalgia and sort out your list.
Going through Wikipedia’s list of 2005 releases, this is my ten (not in order)
