wish i voted for Emily’s D+Evolution by Esperanza Spalding
Corgan & Kozalek - together at last!
So good its the 155th best album in at least TWO separate centuries.
Should be higher.
It starts…
all I want is radiohead not to be number one
I’m off for a meeting in a couple of minutes. 70-84 will be out when I get back, so in the meantime:
QUIZ!
Can you name the 3 artists who had 5 releases nominated?
Kendrick Lamar
The National
…
R*******d?
Radiohead (Kid A, Amnesiac, In Rainbows, King of Limbs, A Moon Shaped Pool)
Nick Cave (No More Shall We Part, Abbatoir Blues, Dig Lazarus Dig, Push the Sky Away, Skeleton Tree)
Would have though Burst Apart would have done better.
The National?
In a meeting most of the day ugh, ah well. Expect hot takes tonight though!
I’m off down the beach but looking forward to jumping back into this thread later to see all the massive beefs you’re all gonna have with this list and one another.
Conor Oberst might well have five across Bright Eyes and Desaparecidos, but probably that doesn’t count.
Would Conor Oberst count? I reckon there was at least four Bright Eyes albums (Fevers, Lifted, Wide Awake, Digital Ash) plus Desaparecidos and solo stuff.
Aretha Franklin?
No way Benji is that low?? Damn has he become such a meme that everyone has abandoned his masterpiece album. And I was sure I saw Smoke Ring for my Halo pretty often … funny how you can just see what you want to.
Also yay Transatlanticism made it, only as a token entry
Ghosts of the Great Highway and April >>>>>>>>>>> Benji
was expecting this to be higher, seemed to feature in quite a few lists. maybe i just noticed it more because i like it
what do we think the most recent album on the list will be?
