Never listening to GYBE is where the real indie points are at

if you’re in a melancholic sad mood it’s really just something else, always takes me away to a different place each time I listen and you can’t really ask more than that of an album.

  7. Explosions in the Sky - The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place
  8. Taylor Swift - 1989

  14. Modern Baseball - Holy Ghost
  15. Bloc Party - Silent Alarm

Dear @hip_young_gunslinger,

This reads somewhat like a verse from Stan. Assuming you’re not going to kidnap a relative and dump them in a lake I’m cool with this and any future versions :+1:

I think most lists so far have favoured albums from the 00s but as I spent most of that decade listening to hip hop only, I don’t have a connection with most of its rock/indie canon.

  1. Sleater-Kinney - The Woods
  2. PJ Harvey - Let England Shake
  3. David Bowie - Blackstar
  4. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
  5. Madvillain - Madvillainy
  6. Arcade Fire - Funeral
  7. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Skeleton Tree
  8. Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein
  9. Cloud Nothings - Here and Nowhere Else
  10. Killer Mike - R.A.P. Music
  11. El-P - I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead
  12. Sky Ferreira - Night Time, My Time
  13. The Hotelier - Home, Like Noplace is there
  14. Slowdive - Slowdive
  15. Low - Double Negative
  16. Aesop Rock - Labor Days
  17. Wild Beasts - Two Dancers
  18. Chromatics - Kill for Love
  19. Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid, Maad City
  20. OutKast - Stankonia

I’m having that if I get round to doing my list
(which I won’t)

How did I forget Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds?!

I mean no offense but neither of them are gonna make the list anyway so do what the fuck you want

I’ve come to the realisation that the best Do Make Say Think album is Other Truths and had I spent more time with it it would be on my list.

Almost all the DMST albums are the best DMST album.

my list is the only list I care about and I don’t even care about that

Think other truths is pretty overrated tbh, apart from “Do”, which is colossal

What an amazingly consistent band.

Hard disagree. Just listened to it twice in a row and it all holds up.

I know you would. Just never hooked me like I wanted it to.

I’m going to let you in on a secret Rich.

First time I heard it I was coming up on ecstasy perfectly in time with the album. Was one of the best first listens to anything ever.
