What a crock. Agree with ruffers that some men of a certain age find it difficult to talk seriously about this so make half assed jokes or dismiss it but that is something they need to sort out and is in no way an excuse.

Sending you lots of love, in my experience it is something every girl/woman has had and fine though to some extent and the fact that it is now being addressed is going to cause A lot of men to seriously consider their attitudes and behaviour in terms of speaking up.

I hate those kinds of situations where people say stuff that’s really unacceptable but can’t marshal thoughts quick enough to make an argument, and then the moments gone and you are just waiting for the opportunity for it to come up again. You shouldn’t let it lie, maybe write out an email setting out why it upset you and ask for an apology, if he doesn’t then just treat him as fallen out until he does. Easier said than done when living with family
