not on the same level obvs, but this reminds me of when I went on my first date into town around 12 or 13 or whatever, and my parents absolutely took the piss out of me because of it and then told my godparents about it who sent me a load of texts making fun of me.

just such a clinical, total way to break a kid’s confidence. still think about it and laugh tbh.
