Think so, just a few years difference in age can really make a big difference on perceptions of music imo. Like someone who is 2 years younger than me probably wouldn’t have got into Kanye in such a big way, or other things

Yeah I was thinking the other day that there are certain artists that won’t even be on the radar of anyone younger than you.

Like the Beta Band seem to have totally passed by anyone younger than me, but were a big deal at the time and still popular with people in my age group.

Because they were both bullies in their own way. My dad psychologically (pressuring me into doing stuff that he’d approve of) and my brother (beating me up; intimidation, etc). When I started going out with my first girlfriend, my brother’s words of ‘encouragement’ to me were ‘oh. Good. I always assumed you were a faggot’

They’ve apologised for how were and I’ve tried to move on but yeah, teenage CCB wasn’t happy.

Just remembered how I was well into Placebo at the time we first got internet at home. My dad asked me what email address I wanted and I said I wanted nancyboy@whatever.com. I had no idea what it meant. My dad refused.
