I’ve been listening to it almost exclusively the past couple of weeks - has stopped me giving the FJM record more than about three plays (well, that and how bloody long it is).
It’s an absolutely brilliant piece of art, and the songwriting’s fantastic. But it’s completely devastating. You sort of owe it to yourself to listen to it knowing full well you’ll be a mess even by the end of the first song tbh. The parts where he mentions his young daughter (which is quite often) have me properly in bits and I’m not even on parentbook, obviously.

@incandenza - Only just seen this convo. Right, so Scream, Dracula, Scream! has the “hit” on it and is a great album; one of the best 1-2-3 punch album openers in the form of Middle/Born In '69/On A Rope. But there’s so much more to them than that song. Example(s)
