Serious overestimation of Wednesday here, tbqhwi mates. Easily the weakest of the teams left in it.

I think Kelvin MacKenzie might be top of my list of people I’d like to personally launch into the sun.

Hull were arguably the weakest one last season but we still went up. You know what the championship is like, none of the teams outside of the top one or two are consistent at all. I think Sheffield Wednesday are a good shout!

Completely agree with this. Really looking forward to seeing Brighton in the premier league next season, hope that Chris Hughton is given a fair chance!

Preferred play-off winner:
Huddersfield > Fulham > Leeds > Wednesday >>>>>> Reading.

Most likely:
Leeds > Wednesday > Fulham > Reading > Huddersfield.

Just really hoping Bournemouth hold Spurs to a draw this weekend. They’ve been holding the big boys to account recently, though apparently both Kane and Wanyama are expected to start for Spurs.

We’ve got Middlesborough on Monday and if we don’t get the three points I doubt I’ll actually sit down and watch one of our games for the rest of this season. Everything has to change at the Emirates. Literally everything.

I still think the FA Cup and 4th is more than possible for Arsenal. The FA Cup and 5th or 6th would still be a good season. We have to stop seeing being the fourth best side in your own league as a bigger achievement than winning a trophy, and supporter bases should measure success on what their club wins, not where there rivals finish. It doesn’t matter in a month of Sundays if Spurs finish above Arsenal, or City finish above United…if none of them win the title. It masks collective underachievement.

Oh yeah, I agree, but my disappointment in not getting a top 4 spot won’t be based on Spurs finishing 2nd, or whatever. At least Spurs are playing with some passion. I agree that the FA Cup is doable as well, but not if we turn in performances like the one against Palace. There’s so much complacency from every aspect of the club and I don’t see it changing before Wenger leaves.

Holy shit.

Apparently we’ve signed Sead Kolasinac on a free. Can’t complain about getting an apparently very good, young left back for no money; in fact we’ll probably make about £15m on him when we sell Gibbs to Palace.

Won’t really make any sort of difference if Arsene is still in charge next year, unfortunately.

Refreshing young players who actually want to achieve stuff is exactly what we need. I also think there’s a fair amount of the same animosity that existed between Mourinho and the club in his last season at Chelsea towards Wenger. Maybe not quite so toxic from the players as from the fans though (although Sanchez is currently embroiled in a dispute about wages; although actually I think he’s going this summer no matter what).

I don’t know about anyone else but I really appreciate Everton’s response The Sun and that Barkley article.

It saddens me a bit that any shop in Liverpool (blue or red) would still stock the shitrag.

Strange amount of people trying to claim this isn’t racist. It’s fucking textbook racism.

I’m a bit on the fence about the racist angle to be honest - I was not aware of Barkley’s family background and would have just read it as an attack on Barkley’s intelligence/ stereotypes of Liverpool’s culture.

This isn’t some kind of apology for the article but if you’re ignorant of the specific (and I think quite obscure until quite recently) context, it’d be easy for that reading to pass you by.
